CANTON
In a small village nestled between a bend in the Pearl River and expansive eucalyptus grove, our first workshop has quietly been chipping away at traditional gesso finishes for close to two decades.
“I first visited our workshop in, some eleven years ago, I was moved by the raw talent of the carvers, gilders, cabinet makers, and finishers. They had taken the antique Florentine flood fragments we imported as finish examples and replicated them with soulful accuracy. What really struck me was that while they were able to replicate what hundreds of years of use and weather had accomplished, there was also opportunity for new life to tell a new story with this skill. We have for over a decade now, been visiting and creating with our workshops, solving design challenges together, and always learning from each other. They have become my extended family. Our greatest pride is in seeing our team and skills grow together over the years. I have so much gratitude that thoughtful design and consciences effort has provided so much for us all.”
